It costs more and you usually have to eat it within a day or two and, for these reasons it may not ever overtake American ice cream in popularity. However, it’s not unusual to find gelato nowadays in major cities throughout the USA. Still, the best option if you want a consistent supply of Italian ice cream whenever you fancy some is to find some recipes and become an expert at preparing your own gelato.
