Cocktail Recipes Information

No great party is replete without the making of a few delicious vodka cocktails.  An awesome and unusual cocktail recipes with vodka is not only a perfect conversation starter at a meeting of friends, but it will also be discussed when your friends get home. Believe it or not, you don’t have to be to be a drinks wiz or highly paid bartender to mix wonderful vodka cocktails. You have to simply acquire the key competence and ingredients.

Firstly, the kind of glasses you will be using is essential. Delivering your Vodka cocktails in the appropriate glass will not only amaze your attendees, but will also show them that you are competent when it comes to cocktails. Imagine what a great impression this will make and they haven’t even tasted the drink yet!

The various types of glasses available include:

  • Tall cocktail glasses
  • Champagne glasses
  • Liqueur glasses
  • Martini glasses
  • Rock glasses.

Rock glasses are better referred to as Shot glasses.  It is prudent to have on hand a variety set of different glasses instead of just one or two kinds, as you can not judge what type of cocktails your friends will want, so ensure full availability.

I would also make sure of a little outlay in purchasing the right equipment needed to mix cocktails. A blender is essential. It does not need to be pricey, but ensure it has sharp blades and a very good motor as you will need this to crush your ice and as this is a absolute neccessity in the majority of cocktails, better to splash out the money here to make the process simpler later on.

Many drinks need to be mixed well, so go out and purchase a good stainless steel shaker. These more often than not come with cups and mini strainers, so check before you buy that it does. A shaker is an fundamental part of your drinks arsenal as it will get used frequently.

Vodka

Although the most popular cocktail asked for is Vodka, it is often a good idea to get to know some of the more unusual ones available, before you invite everyone round! Vodka is so popular due to its virtually nil flavour making it the ideal spirit with nearly any other mixer.

Rum

Always make sure, prior to any social gathering, to stock up on the other cocktail mixers too.
Rum is a huge favorite too and is universally used. Fine, so its not as universal as Vodka, but it does mix with many lovely ingredients.

Bourbon

If your recipe requires lemons, mint leaves or other bitter mixers it would be prudent to use Bourbon.

Tequila

The fiery mexican spirit Tequila is another huge favorite, especially with club goers. Served in rock glasses with lemon wedges and salt, this makes for a wild evening!

Gin

Another great cocktail spirit is Gin, so be sure to get some in.  There are hundreds of cocktail recipes that need the addition of gin basically down to its one off flavor of Juniper and herbs.

Sweetened or salted glass rims are nice touches that you will need to have ready. Just dip the rim of your glass into a flat plate of either thick fruit syrup or cream liqueur. Then do the same, but this time in a open plate of salt or sugar. Prepare lemons and limes cut, ready to garnish on the edge of the glass.

To finish off, for the finishing touch, you may like to garnish your great cocktails with the usual extras to make them even more appetizing and attractive!

The paper umbrella is an absolute must! Admittedly, they are not classy, but they are as essential to a cocktail as the rest of the mix. Serve them and your friends will laugh. They will ask where it is if you don’t use them! They are typically used for the more tropical cocktails and will get people laughing.
